Oak Grove Middle School
Oak Grove, MO

HollisĀ + Miller designed the Oak Grove Middle School for the Oak Grove School District. The school initially houses 600 students with the capacity for 750 students. With the construction of the new middle school, the existing middle school was used to ease crowding in the elementary school within this growing District. Oak Grove Middle School accommodates the team teaching aspect of middle schools with three separate houses; one each for sixth, seventh and eighth grades. Teachers work in teams; each one working with the same set of students all year. The school features a gymnasium as well as a separate commons area for lunch. There is also a stage in both the commons and gymnasium. The gymnasium is designed for community use as well as students and teachers.

The centerpiece of the new school is the media center. The center features a glass front that faces the street and is lit at night. With the latest technology, research areas and a professional development area for teachers and staff, the media center truly meets the needs of both teachers and students.

HollisĀ + Miller assisted with the $10,000,000 bond issue by providing materials that communicated and maximized the bond issue details to the public.
